tarhaun submitted: When it comes to comics, which do you think is more confusing to a new fan : a comic with a single character that has a large number or multiple comics featuring the same character with low numbers?

If I’m understanding the question, are you asking if, for example, Batman #549 is more confusing to newer readers than Batman and Robin #22 or Batman, Inc. #6.

The series with the larger number might scare off some newer readers because they feel they might have to read earlier issues to get a hang of the story while titles with a smaller number is just getting started and don’t have a lot of backlogged books.

Which is probably why Marvel is, more or less, resetting all of their books to lower numbers and such. They’re not rebooting 95% of the universe the way DC did, but they’re making it fresher to newer fans.

More power to them.
