I think the reason I have so much admiration for Jim Henson is the same reason so many people have such love for Walt Disney. He was a creator, probably one of the most brilliant creators of all time. Definitely one of the most gifted creative minds in my lifetime. You see the stuff that he did, the things that he accomplished, the craft he put into performance art, the contributions he made not only to puppetry, but the entertainment and technology as a whole and you see a genius.
The world is a poorer place without Mr. Henson, but so many fans and creators are embracing his creative genius and spirit and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
On this day, which would have been his 75th birthday, I still find myself in awe of what he did in his lifetime and hope that one day, I could make such contributions to the medium I love.
Happy birthday Jim Henson.
