Man, I miss seeing Antonia Thomas and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett on Misfits, and I really, REALLY hated the way both characters were written out of the series.

I’m not spoiling the most recent (11/18/12) episode of Misfits, but its ending kind of … bothered me, but in situations like this, I kind of expected it.
People of Color in either end up being oversexualized (either by choice or by circumstances beyond their control) or a monster.
Or both.
And heaven forbid they become interested in someone of the opposite race, because the Othello complex takes center stage and it never ends well. Sometimes it happens when they’re feeling good about life. Other times, a dark cloud hovers over them causing them to do things they wouldn’t normally do leading up to their final, unfortunate fate.
But they almost always the monster. I knew these kids weren’t the good guys, but you grew to love them, quirks and all. Still, to see them killed off like they were seems a bit of a cop-out and one that needs to be seen suspiciously.
They could have just written them off sending them to a foreign land, but I guess someone has to die. Might as well be the monsters they created that night, right?
I can’t be surprised by things like that any more. It’s just the nature of the beast.

So far, enjoying the fourth season (currently on Hulu), but I’m not going to lie. It’s still strange seeing Curtis being the lone Misfit from the first season still there.

Watching Misfits and Noticed Something
Maybe it’s a coincidence or maybe the creators know their comics history. The series is set in a fictional English city known as Wertham, and if you know your comics history, you know the significance of that name.
Her smile is so beautiful.
Hannah Britland. Saw her on this week’s episode of Misfits (I’m American. and I watch it on Hulu, so don’t judge me; long story short, brilliant episode). Cute. Kind of reminds me a little of a younger Amanda Peet. I think it’s the smile, you know?
