… wasn’t said in the comics. It wasn’t said by Uncle Ben until MANY, MANY years after it was supposedly said. And some people are in a loop after learning the iconic line wasn’t said in The Amazing Spider-Man movie.
Truth be told, it was never said in the comics at all until fairly recently. In fact, it was an entirely different quote first written 50 years ago in the pages of Amazing Fantasy #15:
“And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come - - great responsibility.”
The whole “with great power comes great responsibility” quote is a truncated version of the previous quote that has, more or less, become the de-facto quote that defines the Spider-Man mythos.
Kind of like “Just the facts, ma’am,” “Play it again, Sam,” “You talkin’ to me? You talkin’ to me? I don’t see anyone else, you must be talkin’ to me,” “Good morning, Dave,” “Luke, I am your father,” “Do you feel lucky, Punk?” and countless other misquotes.
