The actor voicing Donatello would do better voicing Raphael seeing as though his voice closely resembles the original series Raphael. Other than that this might just suffice for my turtle needs.

Rob Paulsen , the talented voice actor behind Donatello on this show, actually WAS Raphael on the original show. So far, he’s the only cast member from the original series to be a part of the new series.

Pretty decent voice cast on the new show for the rest of the Turtles. Jason Biggs plays Leonardo, Sean Astin is Raphael, and Greg Cipes is Michelangelo.

“Cricket?! Nobody understands cricket!”

“You gotta know what a crumpet is to understand cricket.”

Great scene.

Rewatched The Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Film Last Night

It’s strange really how fun that film still is.

No computer graphics. No special effects. Just great puppetry from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop (one of the final projects the influential creator had a hand in developing and something he called the most advanced puppetry he had ever worked with), fun moments, and a reserved, yet kinetic energy that you don’t see in similar genre films these days.

I think we’ve been caught up on what computers can do that we have lost sight of what creators can do without them.

The more I feel any big screen revival of the series will be mostly computer animation over flesh and blood (and foam-covered) actors, the more I appreciate the awesomeness of the 1990 flick. Twenty-two years? Wow, I’m feeling old.

See, if I was Nickelodeon, this is the direction I’d go for a new TMNT cartoon. Traditionally-animated, spry, Teen Titans-esque. Comedic and action-packed.
Did I mention traditionally-animated?
And yes, I am aware that this is only one piece of artwork, but considering the alternative and their initial art, it looks a “shellava” lot better.
Gosh, I feel lame for even typing that. Your judgement of me right now is appropriate, and I’m sorry.

kryptoswag asked you:

Cowabunga dude, how about the TMNT?!

Donatello, definitely.
I identified with the nerd of the team because, well, let’s face it, I’m a nerd. More often than not, he used his brains more than his brawn, but he was good at both.

Saw this over at Topless Robot today.
The powers that be at Playmates have revealed some of their plans for the line’s revival, the first under the direction of that slime-coated company known as Nickelodeon.
The main line looks incredible, but the TMNT Classics line that this Michelangelo comes from? This is the line my 9-year old self wanted.

The gun freak Bebop, brawler Rocksteady and armored Krang team up with Shredder, who took lessons from Batman, to make turtle soup out of those pesks. They’ll need a lot more turtle power if they’re to survive this one…

O_O

See … see … this is why I HATE fan art on principle. The official guys will NEVER do anything remotely this cool looking nor this awe-inspiring. Especially considering the official guys are Nickelodeon, and the new series coming this year is going to look like this depresses me even more.Though to be fair, the new comics from IDW look decent.

Regardless, holy crap, this artwork is awesome as hell.
